Commands as given in the Firebase docs and the repository README.
Firebase agent skills are the official Firebase skills that teach coding agents setup, Auth, Firestore and deploys.
Firebase agent skills are Firebase’s own collection of skills in the Agent Skills format: instructions, recommended practices and automation scripts for Firebase tasks such as adding sign-in, provisioning Cloud Firestore or deploying a web app (Firebase docs). Firebase says they work with any assistant that supports skills, naming Antigravity, Claude Code, Codex and Cursor. The source is the firebase/agent-skills repository under the Apache 2.0 license; the Claude and Codex plugin manifests in it are at version 1.1.0.
The skills listed in the docs cover first-time setup (firebase-basics), Authentication (firebase-auth-basics), Cloud Firestore, Firebase SQL Connect (firebase-data-connect-basics), classic Hosting (firebase-hosting-basics), App Hosting for Next.js and Angular (firebase-app-hosting-basics), Firebase AI Logic (firebase-ai-logic-basics), Crashlytics (firebase-crashlytics), Remote Config (firebase-remote-config-basics) and a Firestore security rules auditor. The repository also carries an xcode-project-setup skill for adding Swift packages to iOS projects and extension-to-functions-codebase for turning a Firebase Extension into a Cloud Functions codebase.
Firebase pitches them as a complement to the Firebase MCP server: the server acts on your projects and data, and the skills tell the agent how to use it and the Firebase CLI. The repository’s .mcp.json starts that server through npx firebase-tools, and the Codex plugin manifest declares both skills and MCP. Skills load by progressive disclosure: the agent reads short metadata first and the full instructions only when a request matches (Firebase docs).
