This policy explains what information aftergradient.com collects and how it is used.
Reading the site
You can read every page without an account or a paywall. This page explains visit analytics, information sent through the contact form, outbound referral links and content embedded from other platforms.
Site analytics
We run first-party analytics on our own servers to understand how the site is used: which pages are read, how readers arrive (referring site or search engine), searches made with the site’s own search box, pages that return “not found”, outbound link clicks, page performance measurements, and which automated crawlers visit. This information is used in aggregate to decide what to write and to fix broken pages. We don’t sell it, and we don’t use it to build advertising profiles.
The site also uses Google Analytics 4 to measure visits and interactions. Google processes information under its own privacy policy. Google Analytics currently loads without a site consent banner.
Contact form
When you use the contact form, we receive what you enter: your name, email address, topic, an optional page link and your message. We use it only to read and respond to your message, and to correct a page when you report an error. Submissions are kept in our private inbox and deleted when they are no longer needed.
Outbound links
Guides link to vendors’ documentation and other sources. When you follow a link, the destination site’s own privacy policy applies. Some outbound links carry a referral marker so the destination can see the visit came from Aftergradient.
Embedded content
Some articles embed posts from X, YouTube, Reddit or GitHub. Those embeds load from the platform that hosts them, which may collect data under its own privacy policy.
Cookies and local storage
The site doesn’t require cookies to read content. If a feature stores a preference in your browser, such as light or dark mode, it stays on your device.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information you sent us through the contact form. Send the request through the contact form.
