Claude API is Anthropic’s skill that keeps an agent current on the Claude API and Anthropic SDKs.
The Claude API skill is a reference the agent uses when code or questions involve Anthropic’s API or SDKs, so it does not answer from stale memory about model IDs, pricing, parameters, streaming, tool use, caching or agent patterns. It is skipped when another LLM provider is in use. Anthropic ships it under Apache-2.0 as its own claude-api plugin, for Claude Code, the Claude apps and the Claude API.
