Grafana MCP Server is Grafana Labs’ server for local Grafana 9+ or Grafana Cloud.
The Grafana MCP server gives agents access to Grafana dashboards, datasources, Prometheus and Loki queries, alerts, incidents and OnCall. Grafana Labs maintains it under the Apache-2.0 license for local Grafana 9+ or Grafana Cloud. It runs locally over stdio via uvx, Docker or a binary, can also serve SSE or Streamable HTTP, and authenticates with a Grafana service account token. Configurations for Claude Desktop and Cursor follow.
Tools search and edit dashboards, run panel and datasource queries (Prometheus, Loki, SQL, CloudWatch and others), manage alert rules, incidents, OnCall schedules, annotations and snapshots, and render panels. It has read-only and query-free modes.
