The Azure MCP Server is available through npm, NuGet (dnx) and PyPI (uvx), runs locally over stdio and signs in with Azure credentials through Entra ID, for example with the Azure CLI. It exposes tools grouped by service namespace across storage, Key Vault, Cosmos DB, monitoring and many other Azure services. It has a read-only option and namespace filtering. In VS Code, Microsoft recommends installing it through the Azure MCP Server extension.
