Cursor’s pricing and plans help page gives annual prices of $80 a year for Plus, $300 for Premium, $1,000 for Super and $2,000 for Ultra.

The same subscription also covers Grok and X features. The pricing page shows those benefits beside the Cursor features; this guide only covers what matters inside Cursor.

What each tier changes in Cursor

The Models & Pricing page describes the tiers this way:

  • Free: Agent and Chat with limited usage.
  • Plus: Agent with Cursor’s own models (Grok 4.7, Grok 4.6, Grok 4.5 and Composer 2.5) at fixed settings: Fast off, medium effort. No Auto, Cloud Agents, Automations, Bugbot, Origin, third-party models or your own API keys.
  • Premium: everything in Plus with 4x the usage, plus Cloud Agents and Automations, code hosting on Origin, Bugbot code review and third-party models at API list price.
  • Super: everything in Premium with 15x Plus usage and priority model access at peak times.
  • Ultra: everything in Super with 50x Plus usage and earliest access to new products and models.

For coding with Claude or GPT models inside Cursor, Plus is not enough: Cursor says Plus includes its own models only, and third-party models start at Premium.

How the weekly usage pool works

Each paid plan includes one pool of usage for Cursor models. Cursor says the pool is shared across Agent in the editor, the CLI, Cloud Agents, Grok Bot and the Grok apps, and that it refreshes weekly. Different models draw from it at different rates (Models & Pricing).

Cursor’s usage and limits page says the remaining pool and the next reset date appear under Usage at grok.com/dashboard and in your editor settings. Unused included usage does not roll over.

When the pool runs out, the documented options are to wait for the weekly reset, keep working from prepaid credit, or move to a higher tier. Cursor states that requests are not downgraded in quality or speed.

Third-party models and top-ups

Third-party models such as Claude or GPT are not part of the weekly pool. On Premium and above they are paid from prepaid credit from the first request (usage-based charges). The same credit pays for Cursor models after the weekly pool is used up.

According to that page:

  • You buy credit under Additional usage credits at grok.com/dashboard/billing, or turn on Auto Top-up, which is off until you enable it.
  • Top-up charges are taken when you buy credit, not billed in arrears.
  • Each top-up stays available until used or until it expires, currently 365 days after purchase (usage and limits).
  • A monthly additional usage limit caps paid usage regardless of how much credit you hold.

Per-token model rates change often; check them on Cursor’s Models & Pricing page rather than relying on a copy.

Teams and Enterprise pricing

Cursor’s team pricing docs list three paid seat tiers on Teams: Premium at $30, Super at $100 and Ultra at $200 per user per month, each with the matching individual weekly pool. One team can mix tiers, and Plus is not available for teams. A Free seat has no team usage allowance.

Seats do not share weekly pools, and usage does not transfer between members. Third-party models are paid from the team’s shared prepaid balance and carry the Cursor Token Rate on eligible models. Enterprise adds pooled usage, SCIM, audit logs, invoice billing and advanced admin controls through Cursor’s sales team.

Legacy Cursor plans

Plans sold before The X Subscription keep working for existing subscribers. Cursor’s legacy plans page maps them to the closest current tier:

Legacy plan Price Comparable current plan
Hobby Free Free
Start (India only) ₹649/mo, tax inclusive Plus
Pro $20/mo Premium ($30/mo)
Pro+ $60/mo Super ($100/mo)
Ultra $200/mo Ultra ($200/mo)
Teams Standard $40/user/mo Teams, Premium seat ($30/user/mo)
Teams Premium $120/user/mo Teams, Super seat ($100/user/mo)

Legacy plans split included usage into two monthly pools, Cursor Models and Other Models, and use on-demand usage billed in arrears after a pool runs out. Cursor says each paid current plan includes at least twice as much coding usage with Cursor models as the legacy plan it replaces, but drops the included third-party model allowance.

Switching is optional and permanent. The pricing help page says a switch cancels the Cursor subscription with a prorated refund before you pick a plan on The X Subscription. If you rely on Claude or GPT models through the Other Models pool, compare that allowance with the cost of prepaid credit before you move.

Which Cursor plan fits

Based only on what Cursor documents:

  • Trying Agent occasionally: Free.
  • Cursor’s own models only, no cloud agents: Plus.
  • Third-party models, Cloud Agents or Bugbot: Premium or higher.
  • Daily heavy agent use: Super or Ultra, which Cursor recommends for daily agent users and power users.
  • A team that needs central billing and SSO: Teams; Enterprise for pooled usage, SCIM and invoicing.

Every listing with its check date is in the plans tracker, including Cursor Premium and Cursor Pro. For how Cursor compares with another editor-based agent on price and features, see GitHub Copilot vs Cursor, and for the student offer see Cursor student discount.
